"Secret" and "Hot Salt" Win Susque Awards

Congratulations to the winners and all of the filmmakers for a successful film festival on Thursday afternoon!  Fifty people made it to the festival, packing out Apfelbaum 319, partaking of popcorn, soda, and prizes.  "Hot Salt" won the audience award and "Two Can Keep a Secret" won the jury award.  Thanks to all of those who participated!
Official vote counters Kyle Stover and Chayna Schiff count up votes for the audience award.
Connor Kealey, Rory Meagher, and Jamie Weist accept the Susque Audience Award for favorite narrative film for "Hot Salt" from Judy Morris.  "Two Can Keep a Secret" (made by Amy Masgay, Caitlin Wilson, and Emilee Heider) won the jury award (as voted on by faculty and upperclassmen in the broadcasting program before the festival).
Judy Morris asks movie trivia questions (and then awards prizes for correct answers).  The audience then watches movie trailers made by the intermediate video production students.  David Lineham won the audience award for his trailer about Cheryl.  Anna Thieben won the jury prize for her trailer about Sandy's Story.  To see the trailers, click here.

Amos Cooper wins a door prize.  Movie-themed prizes were given as door prizes and to those who answered movie trivia questions correctly.

"Week 15" screened in Philadelphia!

"Week 15," the collaborative film directed by Judy Beth Morris, was screened in Philadelphia on November 4, 2011, at the Mid-Atlantic Popular/American Culture Association conference.  A lively discussion about academia followed the screening.
